“OKTOIH 1494 – 2014” in the Museum of Vrbas Print E-mail

In cooperation with the National Council of the Montenegrin National Minority in Serbia, the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” will organize presentation of the map of prints “Oktoih 1494-2014” on January 29, in the premises of the National Council in Vrbas, at 6pm. It is a graphic map created by Dimitrije Popović and published by the National Library in 2014, on occasion of marking the 520th anniversary of printing Oktoih pravoglasnik, the first Cyrillic book among the South Slavs.
The President of the National Council Ratko Šoć and Ambassador of Montenegro to Belgrade Branislav Mićunović will speak at the opening of the exhibition “Oktoih 1494-2014”.
The map of prints “Oktoih 1494-2014” consists of ten art prints and six graphics integrated in the form of art book. Graphics were inspired by the letters that form the name “Oktoih” and they were artistically and symbolically interpreted by the artist Dimitrije Popović. The map of prints “Oktoih 1494-2014” was printed in hundred of numbered copies, with each sheet signed by the artist.
So far this art project has been successfully presented in Zagreb, Brussels, Ljubljana and Belgrade.
