Ambasadroka Republike Njemačke u Crnoj Gori, Nj. E. Gudrun Štajnaker posjetila je 17. februara Nacionalnu biblioteku Crne Gore. Gospođa Štajnaker je sa direktoricom NBCG, Jelenom Đurović, obišla zgradu Biblioteke u nekadašnjem Italijanskom poslanstvu, razgovarala o mogućnostima saradnje, i prisustvovala projekciji filma o rekonstrukciji i revitalizaciji prostora Nacionalne biblioteke .
 
140 Years since the Birth of Constantin Brancusi in the National Library Print E-mail

On February 19, the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” and the Embassy of Romania in Montenegro marked 140 years since the birth of Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957). This is one of the most influential sculptors of the early twentieth century who developed the sculptural abstraction and opened the way for surrealism and later minimalism of 60s. In honor of the great sculptor, the National Library of Montenegro organized an exhibition of publications issued in Romania and publications in Romanian that are kept in the Library’s Fund. Romanian Ambassador to Montenegro Ferdinand Nagy, Ambassador of France to Montenegro Véronique Brumeaux and Director of the National Library Jelena Đurović spoke at the opening ceremony.

“OKTOIH 1494 – 2014” in Vrbas Print E-mail

In cooperation with the National Council of the Montenegrin National Minority in Serbia, the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” organized on January 29 presentation of the map of prints “Oktoih 1494-2014”, in the premises of the National Council in Vrbas. It is a graphic map created by Dimitrije Popović and published by the National Library in 2014, on occasion of marking the 520th anniversary of printing Oktoih pravoglasnik, the first Cyrillic book among the South Slavs.

The Nanovic Institute for European Studies at the University of Notre Dame has awarded the 2016 Laura Shannon Prize in Contemporary European Studies to Mark Thompson for his book “Birth Certificate: The Story of Danilo Kiš,” published in 2013 by Cornell University Press.
